Our Cycling Community

The Allegro crew prides itself on being service and advice oriented. We are happy to perform a range of maintenance and repair service on any brand or type of bicycle. We are always happy to answer questions pertaining to anything about bikes.

When we’re not hanging out in the bike shop, chances are you can find us out riding our bikes. Our staff are into all types of cycling, with interests ranging from gravel rides, road cycling, adventure cycling, bike packing, mountain biking, cyclocross, and even family pleasure rides. For the racers out there, we proudly sponsor our own road, mountain, and cyclocross race teams, and compete in events both locally and regionally. We are also proud to sponsor the Whitman College Cycling Team, who have been welcoming new riders to the sport and competing at a high level since 2005. Allegro Cyclery is the title
sponsor and event promoter for the annual Tour of Walla Walla Stage Race, a 3-day, 4-stage race which is held every April and has attracted road cyclists from all over the country for over 20 years. Allegro also puts on an annual cyclocross race in October.

The Allegro Staff loves to go camping with our bicycles. We discovered bicycle camping a few years back, and we can’t get enough of it! To share our excitement, we put on a Bicycle Camping Evening Primer every March to screen bicycle camping films and answer questions about how to get your bike set up for camping. This event is the perfect prelude for riders for the 4 day bike packing event that we both organize and lead. We also lead several S24O’s (sub 24-hour overnights) throughout the year. Previous
4-day trips have included the Oregon Outback and the Steen’s Mountain Loop.

At Allegro we believe women cyclists are a vital part of our cycling community. We know how important it is to offer an extensive selection of women’s apparel, accessories, and women’s specific bikes. Women in our community, and tourists who visit our store, know without a doubt that there is a strong and inviting presence for them here at Allegro Cyclery.

Committed to providing group ride experiences for our community, there is always a ride to join for both women and men, as Allegro leads up to 4 rides a week. We often load up a group of people and bikes in our shop Suburban and take off for the trails to ride for the day, gravel grind, play in the snow with fat bikes or even ski.
