Dirt lovers rejoice - Allegro carries great mountain bike models for all kinds of riding. Whether you're a hardtail riding cross-country rider or an agressive trail ripper, we've got something you'll love.
We all remember our first mountain bike. For many of us, it was a bike like the Lana'i. It's affordable enough not to feel too risky but stocked with components that give you the freedom to explore off-road. The Lana'i features integrated Shimano shifters and brake levers to streamline the cockpit and is now available in three wheel sizes: 26" for size XS, 27.5" for S and M, and 29" for L and XL. With a Shimano drivetrain, Tektro disc brakes, and a 100mm travel fork, the Lana'i is the perfect way to dip your toes in the dirt. Kona 6061 Aluminum Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. Internal Headset Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. Tapered Head Tube More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it’s needed.
You’re not committed to one style of riding—you’re just as likely to hit flow trails after work as you are to bikepack gnarly singletrack on the weekends. You like to keep your options open, and Horsethief SLX shares that philosophy. The Split Pivot rear suspension system increases pedaling and braking efficiency, while the 120mm-travel rear suspension and 140mm fork provide plenty of insurance for bold lines. Horsethief accommodates 29" or 27.5 plus wheels and a flip chip so you can fine-tune it to suit your riding style and favorite trails. To top it all off, the smooth-shifting Shimano SLX group and powerful, four-piston braking leave you with two fewer things to worry about in the world. Horsethief is a trail bike that keeps the good times rolling.
