Stage 1 - Kellog Hollow Road Race:
This stage is included in the Stage Race for Pro-1-2 racers, and is optional (and seperate from the Stage Race) for Women-1-2-3 and Cat 3 men. If there are sizeable fields at this year's Friday stage, we may make this stage part of the stage race for 2008. The course is a 27 mile loop; elevation gain is 2200 feet per lap. The start is in Waitsburg, there is a 7 mile section leading to the loop, and 1+ mile section after the loop leading to the finish line. The first half mile is neutral until after crossing the railroad tracks. The tracks are rough and at a high angle. They will not be covered -- walking over the tracks may be advisable There are two corners with a sharp left turn after a descent. One is at 15.5 miles into the race. The other is at 26.5 miles. Pro-1-2's will encounter each turn twice, as they are doing the loop two times. Click here to go to Routeslip.com to view an interactive map of the full road race course.
